Mr George Fowlis is a consultant urological surgeon in full-time independent practice in Greater London, UK. He is the first Gambian appointed to a consultant post in the UK NHS, where he worked for 15 years as a consultant before moving to independent practice for the last 12 years. He has been coming home to Gambia with other colleagues yearly since 1999 under the auspices of BAUS UROLINK to compliment the urology services in The Gambia. He has an interest in urological cancers, particularly prostate cancer which will be the topic of his talk at the conference.
