BISSC ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Extended Deadline: 24 March 2025 @ 12:59 GMT
Abstract Status Notifications: March 2025
All submissions for moderated sessions will be selected based on BISSC Needs Assessment analysis and preference will be given to the topics which will best serve the educational needs of attendees.
1. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
- All submissions must be made by 1st March 2025.
- Extended Deadline by 24th March 2025
- Submit Abstract in PDF Format
- The BISSC Scientific Committee will decide on the presentation category for presentation abstracts:
- Podium Presentation
- E-Poster
2. ETHICAL APPROVAL
- A clear statement on ethical approval must be given, or stated as NONE.
3. DISCLOSURES AND FUNDING
- Any external funding of the study or grants must be declared or stated as NONE.
4. ABSTRACT FORMATTING AND SUBTITLES
- The format requested are "extended abstracts" which must not be more than 350 words .
- Corresponding author should indicate:
o Email and contact details
o Contributing authors with their affiliations
o Surgical Specialty of the abstract - Abstracts must use the sections given:
o Title
o Introduction / aims of study
o Study design, materials and methods
o Results
o Conclusion
o Keywords
5. ABSTRACT CONTENT
- Abstracts must be written in English.
- For studies comparing results between groups, sample size (power) calculations must be included.
- Abstracts must specify either:
o Non-clinical
o Clinical (Surgical/Non-surgical)
6. AUTHORS
- Presenting Authors with moderated presentations must register for the in-person meeting.
- All expenses are the responsibility of the presenter.
7. ABSTRACT WITHDRAWAL
- Abstract withdrawals may be made directly in the submission portal.
- Please submit abstract withdrawal requests in writing.
8. CHANGE OF PRESENTING AUTHOR
- Change may be made directly in the submission portal until March 24th 2025. After this date, please submit requests in writing.
